Silver Legendary Warrior Sitting Bull Round 1oz

As the eleventh release in the exclusive Warrior Series this silver round features Sitting Bull. The first in the series is Eric Bloodaxe, the second being Julius Caesar, the third being Achilles, the fourth being Alexander The Great, the fifth being Genghis Khan, the sixth being Geronimo the seventh being Joan of Arc, the eighth being Spartacus, the ninth being Hannibal, and the tenth being Leonidas I. This round features the great warrior, Sitting Bull, Hunkpapa Lakota Sioux Leader.

Sitting Bull was a renowned Hunkpapa Lakota Sioux leader and spiritual figure best known for his role in resisting U.S. government policies that threatened Native American lands and way of life. He became famous for uniting the Lakota tribes and leading them to victory at the Battle of the Little Bighorn in 1876, where General Custer’s forces were decisively defeated. His leadership symbolized Native resistance during a time of aggressive westward expansion. Later in life, he toured with Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show, but remained a powerful symbol of Native defiance until his death in 1890.

The obverse features Sitting Bull wearing a traditional war bonnet and draped in a robe, with a water skin attached at his hip. He holds a ceremonial pipe in his hands, while a bison stands to his right and a hawk appears nearby. In the background, mountains rise behind a group of teepees and several Native Americans, completing the powerful and detailed scene. At the top of the round his name is inscribed “SITTING BULL”. The reverse then features the common design that will be used throughout the series which depicts an array of historic weaponry that represents each of the warriors to come in this Legendary Warriors Series. The words “LEGENDARY WARRIORS” and “1. OZ 999 FINE SILVER” are curved around the top and bottom of the design.
